In our case wild flowers. Rachel and I decided a few years back that we would dedicate a small area of our garden to a wild flower bed or as we call it 'The Meadow'. We live in rural North Wales and have a reasonable back garden but not a huge area for plants. So we made a raised bed from old railway sleepers, filled it with the best soil we could get hold of and initially planted potatoes. This was a win-win as we had fantastic potatoes and well conditioned soil at the end of it. We then invested in a really good wild seed mix and began sowing. Our seed mix had around 50 different plant types and soon began to develop. The place was buzzing (literally) as we had an influx of bees, insects and butterflies. Later on we found that this also encouraged more birds to visit the garden attracting greenfinches which we had previously not seen here. In the picture you will see the predominant flower now (orange) which we harvested the seeds and replanted. It is really quite amazing as it opens up and 'sings' in the daytime when the sun shines and then goes to sleep at night. Have a look and see what I mean-nature is truly amazing. So if you want to help our natural friends and put a smile on your own face grab a handful of wildseed mix, put a little bit of garden to one side and watch and enjoy.

Kritters Crumble is what got us to understand about sustainable animal bedding products. Made from coir (the outer fibres of the coconut) it made us realise that this is the ultimate in sustainability. The tree is not harmed in any way and the fruit which is harvested is used 100% with no waste at all. When the product is used it can be disposed of in your garden and help to grow your plants. It makes perfect sense. Oh, and if that wasn't good enough-we find that our animals love the natural environment and thrive in it.

We are so pleased to announce the launch of our new website and shop. We have been around for some time trading through eBay and through retailers but feel the time is right to have our own presence.
